I went back here to Singapore last December 14, 2010 with my parents for a vacation. It was also my anniversary gift for them since they are celebrating their 30th.

It was a great time for both of them, and for me too, since this is the first time after 5 years that the three of us really had time to hang out. Too bad they had to go back last January 6 while I was left here on my own.

I was left behind because I was engaged by this company to try out with them. I never really expected it because I was not really looking for a job when I went back to Singapore. I was set to go back to Manila because I know that when I go back, I will be starting work on this new reality show that GMA 7 has been cooking up.

But then, things happened, the show was put on hold indefinitely and I found myself sending out resumes online.

The funniest thing was, I saw this ad online looking for an Editor last December 30. It was past midnight already but I thought that I just want to try it out anyway. I sent my resume and the afternoon that day, I received a call requesting me to go for an interview the next day.

I though that was weird because it’s almost new year’s eve, but hey, when work comes a-calling, I’ma-going! So I went.

I think the interview went well because I found it relaxed and really candid. The interviewer told me that if ever I get hired, I’d receive a call by night time or by Monday.

I left the interview that afternoon not knowing what would happen next.

That night, I went with my parents to Marina Bay to watch the new year countdown.

At 9 pm, my phone rang.

I was to report on Monday to talk about my employment.

Fast forward to two weeks after, I am now editing for a TV show they’re doing for Channel News Asia called “Clickability”.

I still don’t know what my future holds for me but I know that it is all well in the hands of God.

I hope that through this effort, I would be able to avail myself to anyone who would need such skills, talents or experiences that I have to improve a project or create something that we will both be proud of.

I am very passionate when it comes to my work though I admit that in all the years that I have worked for television and other sorts of media, I have discovered that I still have a lot to learn; but I am willing to learn the tricks of this trade no matter what it takes.
